Some people are looking for a quick fix or a magic wand. We are not the right fit for them, as we know there are no such things in dog training. If you know it will be work, that it will require commitment and a lot of change on the human end of the leash. Then we are the trainers for you and will be with you through it all.

What to Expect:

K9 Heights Application Process

Step 1 : Complete K9 Heights Questionnaire

This provides us with essential information and allows us to know what questions to ask to best address your needs.

Step 2 : Schedule 10 Minute Phone Consultation

(If you have not spoken to us yet)

Our staff will answer questions regarding our philosophy, programs, results, and pricing and set up an evaluation if needed. (All aggression, fear, anxiety, and potty issues require an evaluation before proceeding with training to ensure that we find the right program for them) This is a chance for potential clients and K9 Heights to see if we are a good fit. We can’t give training advice without a contract of service.

You will receive an email with program descriptions and pricing, blogs covering our philosophy, training tips, and results, as well as links to our social media so you can see our training process looks like, read our reviews, and see what clients say in the comments. This email will also include the protocol that needs to be followed when your dog returns home. That is the core of our program, it is why we have such a record of success.

PLEASE ensure that everyone in the household reads it in its entirety and understands that every part of the protocol is required for success. Discuss this among every household member and anyone who will be in interaction with the dog regularly. If there is any doubt about ability to follow through at home, now is the time to know and, if there is, we recommend not moving forward. Some people are looking for a quick fix or a magic wand. We are not the right fit for them, as we know there are no such things in dog training. If you know it will be work, that it will require commitment and a lot of change on the human end of the leash. Then we are the trainers for you and will be with you through it all.

Step 3 : Evaluation

K9 Heights owner and lead trainer, Eric Allport does all In Home evaluations. This is an opportunity for him to work with the dog, see how they respond, and make any recommendations. It gives owners a chance to see how we interact with your dog and have any program questions answered.

Step 4 : Sign up for Training

A) We will send you an invoice for deposit and a contract for e sign. Please complete both as soon as possible. All openings in our programs are booked on a first come first serve basis among those who have signed a contract and made a deposit. There is no guarantee of service previous to the completion of both contract and deposit. Day and time for both drop off and for your go home lesson need to be scheduled before training begins. We also recommend scheduling your follow up lesson then as well. This can be done via email if it is possible to do in one exchange. This way we can avoid the back and forth which results in much wasted time for both parties. If it is more convenient, we can schedule a phone call so that you can compare schedules with our staff and book all appointments.

B) You will also receive an email with a detailed description of what you need have in order for training to commence. There will also be a checklist so you can ensure that you have gathered everything necessary. Please be diligent about preparations. For example. Copies of current vaccination records and a negative fecal exam from within the last 60 days must be provided to K9 Heights prior to any dog entering our facility. To avoid last minute set backs, we encourage clients to prepare and get everything to us as far in advance of the drop off day as possible.
